Learn how and when to use waterfall/dedicated projects.
Waterfall and Dedicated Projects were built for automation customization. We understand that carrier relationships are essential to business, which is why we offer the ability to take control of your carrier outreach through projects.
Projects allow users to maintain carrier organization while fitting carriers into groups. Let's discuss the recommended use case for both project types.
-
Waterfall: These are ideal for lanes, customers, or revenue codes with regular carriers but have room for growth. Waterfall projects are directly linked to our Booking Assistant/DFM automation.
Using the Waterfall workflow gives you the opportunity to offer live loads to your preferred carriers first, while still including all in-network carriers in the automated outreach. By grouping your in-network carriers into segments, you’re able to prioritize relationships, ensure efficiency, and reduce the time to book the load.
-
Dedicated: These are ideal for lanes, customers, or revenue codes with contracted or regular carriers that always run this freight. Like Waterfall projects, Dedicated Lane projects directly tie into our Booking Assistant for targeted email automation to help reduce the manual efforts every time you receive these loads.
By procuring the carrier(s) you regularly work with into your priority 1 group, C4 will honor this cadence and send automated emails through the Booking Assistant to that group only, strengthening your partnership and reducing the number of emails other carriers receive.
These projects are a great opportunity to use our ‘Book Now’ option if available for your TMS.
