Helpful information to know when utilizing our RFP Tool
You can access the RFP results in two ways:
1. Start by navigating to the Settings menu in the top right corner of your screen. From there, go to the 'Automation Tools' section and select 'RFPs'.
In this page, you'll be able to monitor the upload status as well as download the results directly from the platform.
To download the results once the status is Completed: select the RFP you want to download, and click 'Download'.
2. The second way to access the RFP results is via your email inbox. Shortly after submission, an email will be sent to the user's email address from Cargo Chief citing that the 'Pricing Job' has been completed. Open and view pricing data for all lanes within the RFP.
Interpreting the Data
Here is an example of the RFP results:
Instead of running a Capacity search for each of these lanes, you can capture the pricing data we have available based on the information provided in the template.
Helpful Tips:
- Pricing accuracy is best within a 7-10 day window. If working on a bid that is set to start in the future, we recommend running the RFP multiple times leading up to the submission date.
- If the pickup or delivery date is unknown, use today's date for pickup and add a few days for delivery to process the RFP. Dates are required fields in the template because our pricing model is based on the pickup date.
Reasons why pricing might be unavailable for some lanes:
- When it has the same city/state as origin and destination
- When it's under 75 miles
- When it's not a US lane (origin or destination is in Canada or Mexico)
- When there are not enough current transactions to accurately forecast the price
